NIAA Wrestling Weight Certification for 2011-2012 season begins October 17, 2011 |
|
Wrestling coaches can begin scheduling their team's Weight Certification on Monday, October 17, 2011. This allows wrestlers, regardless of what sport they are participating in during the fall season, to determine their lowest allowable weight class for the upcoming wrestling season. Early weight certification determines their body density and can establish their weight loss plan for the upcoming season. The Weight Certification process is based on body density and not body weight so it will not effect their body weight in football. By scheduling early, wrestling coaches can select their ideal time and date rather than wait until after the Winter Rules Meeting to have to schedule based on assessor availability. To schedule your NIAA Weight Certification, contact an Assessor in your area (see listing below). In the south, please contact either Jim Porter for NW, Mark D'Anza in SW, Jeremy Haas in SE and Leland Hanson in NE. |
