The NIAA Board of Control unanamously approved sanctioning of 10 officials associations around the state of Nevada for 2010-2011. All approved associations will be party to the new Officials Association / Member School Agreement which was also approved later in the meeting by the NIAA BOC. The meeting which was held at the Holiday Inn in Sparks, Nevada on Thursday, June 17th. For a list of the approved associations - click here

The annual Commissioners / Association Presidents meeting took place on Friday, June 4th, 2010 at 9AM in Reno at the NIAA office. The new officials contract was discussed with suggested changes finalized. The next step will be to present the agreement to the NIAA Board of Control for approval from the member school representatives.
Before the new agreement is approved, all associations who applied for sanctioning for the upcoming 2010-2011 year will be reviewed by the NIAA Board of Control and either approved or denied for the coming year.

The meeting between various officials' associations (current or applicant) and NIAA Member School / League representatives took place on Wed. Apr 7th at the Holiday Inn in Sparks.
In the coming weeks an agreement draft which reflects the agreed upon provisions of the new contract will be sent to all parties for final approval.

The NIAA is office is hosting a meeting with all officials associations (current or applicant) and NIAA Member School / League representatives at 10:00 AM on Wed. Apr 7th. This meeting will go along way in determining game fees and travel compensation for all NIAA registered sports officials for next year and possibly beyond.
This initial meeting of officials' association reps (Presidents), NIAA sport commissioners and NIAA member school representatives will focus on 1) compensation schedule / mileage reimbursement; 2) agreed upon expectations, from for both parties.
The NIAA Board of Control approved revisions made to the "NSOA Constitution" (now called the NIAA Officials Association Constitution) as well as new procedures for approving (sanctioning) of all local officials associations who are interested in providing officials to any of the 105 NIAA member schools.
The current officials contract (Agreement) is due to expire after the 2009-2010 school year. Details on the new contract (Agreement) between the Officials Associations and NIAA Member Schools as it pertains to game fees, mileage reimbursement and other assessment fees will be negotiated in the near future.
Any prospective officials association seeking to be sanctioned by the NIAA is encouraged to submit a completed application to the NIAA by 5:00 PM Friday, June 11, 2010, to be considered for approval at the next NIAA Board of Control meeting being held June 16th and 17th, 2010, in Reno.
All officials associations that were sanctioned and approved and part of the "Agreement" for 2009-2010, as well as any "new" officials' association, must submit NIAA Form 2.0 OAS and all requested and applicable information by Friday, June 11, 2010 to be considered for sanctioning for 2010-2011.
