** NIAA office has new home **
          - July 28, 2008 - The NIAA office has now relocated to its new home, the historic Hawkins House, located at 549 Court Street in Reno (89501). The new phone number is (775) 453-1012. The new FAX number is 453-1016. The e-mail contacts have remained the same. The office staff appreciated your patience, support and understanding during our move last week. SEE MAP

Summer athletic administrator/director meetings
          - August, 2008 - The NIAA's 2008-2009 fall athletic administrator meetings are set for August 4 (4A Northern, 8:30 a.m. @ Elko High School), August 11 (1A, 2A & 3A all, 9:00 a.m. @ Sparks High School) and August 14 (4A Southern, 9:00 a.m. @ Silverado High School).           - August, 2008 - ATTENTION ATHLETIC DIRECTORS / ADMINS.: Please print the attached publication (74 pages) and bring along to your respective pre-year orientation (see above for dates & sites of meetings).

NIAA (preliminary) fall sports information posted
          - July 17, 2008 - Reference Manual information (league/region and state qualifying procedures, tie-breaking guidelines, etc.) and playoff brackets are now posted for the fall sports (click on the sport links to the left). Also, record book materials for all fall sports except football are now posted.
 
          - April 11, 2008 - Please click on the headline above to view a first DRAFT of the 2008-2012 alignment as submitted by the liaisons. The final alignment will be posted here in mid-August or after the athletic administrator meetings.

          - July 28, 2008 - The Bishop Gorman Gaels, the defending Class 4A Nevada state high school football champion, will face Phoenix Brophy College Preparatory, the defending Class 5A Arizona champion, in the third annual Sollenberger Classic football game August 23 at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Ariz.           - May 30, 2008 - Final standings for the NIAA's Award of Excellence in Academics, Athletics and Citizenship are posted. Please click on the link/ headline above to view the press release and top placers in each class.
 
          - August 29, 2007 - Tony Terrell, a UNLV graduate student who last semester completed an independent study project while taking a class from Dr. Jerry Hughes, published this guide for all aspiring collegiate athletes and those who advise them.

          - May 20, 2008 - The Nevada Interscholastic Activities Association and Farmers Insurance Group will be distributing a total of $30,000 in financial aid (through 10 individual scholarships) to specially-selected graduating seniors who have signed to continue their athletic career in college. The NIAA and the Review-Journal, continuing as "Partners in High School Athletics"
          - September 12, 2007 - The Nevada Interscholastic Activities Association (NIAA) is proud to be entering the fifth year of its partnership with the Las Vegas Review-Journal.
 
          - September 12, 2007 - The Farmers Insurance Group agreed during the NIAA's fall Board of Control meeting Wednesday to become a presenting partner of all Nevada state high school championship events. The sponsorship includes $30,000 in scholarship money for the Silver State's college-bound  student-athletes.
 
          - September 24, 2007 - Les Schwab strengthens community ties by partnering with high school athletic programs.
 
          - September 24, 2007 - Lifetouch National School Studios, Inc. signs on for sixth year as supporter of year-end student-athlete award banquets.
